Let’s try to focus on something other than politics for two seconds. It’s challenging, I know I have to peel myself away from the news cycle. Watching the current state of politics under the fascist Cheeto that was elected President (not by me) is like watching a train wreck, it is horrific, I feel terrible doing it, but I can’t keep my eyes off of it.
Let’s get to talking about fitness, wellness and weed. I’ve been an athlete since I could put on a pair of shoes and run. As an adult I’ve done many things from running marathons, fitness bootcamps, leading a running group, Crossfit, Olympic weightlifting and Powerlifting. Being active comes very natural to me. In fact, it is an essential part of who I am as a woman. I completely understand that being active may not come as natural to everyone else and that is ok. As long as you make the effort to get in some sort of movement daily you are doing yourself a world of good. We all know that daily exercise leads to a healthier and more productive life. There is no reason able bodied adults should not be doing it. You don’t need to have a gym membership, you can do many amazing workouts from the comfort of your own home, apartment, room or whatever. There are tons of free and low cost resources available on the interwebs. Depending on where you live, you can simply go outside to walk or run. I will give y’all a few of my favorite online resources in the coming weeks.
What does exercise have to do with weed you ask?! Plenty! I personally use cannabis as a means to recover from my workouts. I powerlift, strength train, and play competitive volleyball as my primary forms of exercise. Both can be incredibly intense. I’m often sore as hell, plus I’m old. Instead of taking NSAIDs which can be dangerous if consumed too often, I use cannabis to help with pain relief and muscle tension. Right now I am medicated with Dr. Snooks 20:1 CBD:THC alcohol free tincture and a bit of one of the brownies I made from the recipe I posted a few days ago. I played in an all day volleyball tournament Saturday I’m so damn sore. Keep it lit and active folks.
